(2) Beverly G. Yeiser. Correspondence 17 Jan. 1998. "Gerry, born June 3, 1947, Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky. Named after Grandfather, Kirtley Newton "Newt" Yeiser. Oldest son of Beverly Gordon Yeiser and Winefred Gayle Boyd. Attended Hickman St. Elem. 1s6-3rd, Victory Heights Elem. 4th-7th. Kentucky Military Institute, 8th-12th, earned many military awards and Varsity Sports. Letters in five sports, few academic awards, Graduated with Honor in May 1965. Attended the University of Kentucky and Western Kentucky University majoring in Mass Communications. Worked at WLBJ AM-FM in Bowling Green, KY while in school. I was hired while in school by WSM Radio and Television in Nashville, TN. Worked in the news dept. and was at the Tenn. State Prison when James Earl Ray, convicted of murdering Martin Luther King Jr., was transferred from Memphis. Was the Political correspondent covering the State Capital and Legislature. Also covered the Senate campaign of Albert Gore Sr. and Howard Baker. Was lured away from WSM with promises of fame and fortune to enter the family business. Moved to Atlanta, GA and spent the next two years traveling and building Yeiser Distributing Co., Manufactures representative selling specialized equipment to the poultry industry in the U.S. In 1971 moved back to Winchester, KY continuing Yeiser Distributing, and start a new Company, Yeiser Institutional Foods, selling to restaurants, schools and hospitals we were already delivering Yeiser Eggs. Also took over the marketing of Yeiser Eggs. Sold out business in 1977. Then went to work for Jim Host and Assoc. as manager of Lexington Productions, responsible for the selling, production and mail order of the 1978 NCAA Final Four Program. Also negotiated contract to reinstate SEC Basketball Tournament. In 1983 was hired by Centel Cable Television as Director of Advertising and Production for Kentucky and Indiana. In charge of developing and implementing of local advertising and insertion in cable networks. Also produced and directed many local and national TV productions. Following Centel, I developed advertising sales for two radio station. In 1994 I became President of Yeiser Inc. and began to take on responsibility for the Yeiser Industrial Park, which includes 22 buildings and 28 different businesses. I also own Bluegrass Sports which promotes Motocross, Hard Scrambles and Arenacrosses for Dirt Bikes and ATV's. Am member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church where I have served on the Vestry and as Senior Warden. I have also served on the Dioceses Cursillo Committee and as Chairman. I have also served on many cursillo teams and other positions in the Diocese of Lexington. Presently serving as a Director of the Winchester Rotary Club, member of the Winchester Chamber of Commerce and a Commissioner of the Winchester Municipal Utilities.OBITUARY: GERALD N. ‘GERRY’ YEISER Gerald N. “Gerry” Yeiser, 61, of Churchill Drive, husband of Mary T. Yeiser, passed away Thursday, April 9 at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born June 3, 1947 in Lexington to the late Beverly G. and Gayle Boyd Yeiser. Gerry was the managing member of Yeiser Industrial Park, owner of Gerry Yeiser Appraisals, member and former Sr. Warden of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, board member of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Bluegrass, Winchester Municipal Utilities board chairman, Winchester Rotary Club member and past president, Paul Harris Fellow, former assistant treasurer and executive council member for the Episcopal Diocese of Lexington, former Boys Camp director at the Cathedral Domain Camp and Conference Center, and former scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 56. Gerry was a graduate of the Kentucky Military Institute and attended Western Kentucky University. In addition to his wife of 31 years, he is survived by five children, Kimberly Ann Davis of Millwood, Va., Mark Allan (Holly) Davis of Paris, Kirtley Newton (Carol) Yeiser of Virginia Beach, Va., Therese Gayle Yeiser (Spencer) Smith of Winchester, and Mary Catherine Yeiser (Rodney) Adamson of Madisonville; three grandchildren, William Connor Davis, Anna Catherine Davis and Natalie Gayle Yeiser; one brother, Beverly “Buddy” Gordon Yeiser Jr., of Snellville, Ga., and two nephews, Stephen Langley Yeiser of Buford, Ga., and Beverly “Beau” Gordon Yeiser III of St. Petersburg, Fla. Memorial services will be Tuesday at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 2410 West Lexington Road, at 11 a.m. with the Right Rev. Stacy F. Sauls and the Rev. Melanie A. Mudge officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church. Private interment will be in the Emmanuel Episcopal Church Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Bluegrass 1122 Oakhill Drive, Lexington, KY 40505 or the Cathedral Domain Camp and Conference Center, 800 Hwy 1746, Irvine, KY 40336.
