Notes

George Wiser

RESEARCHER-BIRTH: Una Bowman, [una@winco.net] wrote T.Mason on 8Oct2001 indicating there are two marriages for George Wiser in Philadelphia and each wife had the given name of Susannah.  Therefore, it is difficult to determine if there were two individuals by the name of George Wiser or if Susannah Wiser's father married first Susannah Shoemaker and second Susannah D (or T)oeringer."

DEATH: Salem County, New Jersey deed AC:209-214 indicated George
Wiser (b. 1760) was dead by 27 December 1824.

Marriage Notes for George Wiser and Susannah Schumaker-17601

RESEARCHER-BIRTH: Una Bowman, [una@winco.net] wrote T.Mason on 29Dec2001. "Records of the St. Michael's & Zion Lutheran Church in
Philadelphia, PA.  George Weiser married 18 May 1785 to Susanna Schumaker in Philadelphia at St. Michael's & Zion Lutheran Church.
(NOTE: In one publication George's marriage, in 1785, to Susanna
Schumaker/Shoemaker, he was George Weis and she was Susanna Schamacherin). Verified by:  The Records of the Swedish Lutheran Churches at Racoon and Penn's Neck. (Swedesboro, New Jersey) "Wiser, George, son of George Wiser, deceased and Cathrine/Catherine, b. 6 April. 1760.  Susanna, h. w. (his wife) daughter of Michael and Susanna Shoemaker, b. 28 February 1761. Their child; Elizabeth, b. 5 February 1786."

George Wiser

RESEARCHER-BIRTH: Una Bowman, [una@winco.net] wrote T.Mason on 29Dec2001. "Records of Records of the Swedish Lutheran Churches at Racoon and Penn's Neck." "When George Wiser made his will in Salem
County, New Jersey in 1833 he wrote "shall provide for my mother  Susanna Wiser as long as she shall live."  Therefore, Susanna was probably Susanna Shoemaker Wiser and not a stepmother that had become the wife of a George Wiser in 1792.
