Information sent to T.Mason on 8 Aug 2007 by Brian Kontes. "I am in the process of purchasing a historic Greek Revival house in Ridgway, PA built by Miner Wilcox around 1844. I am trying to gather information about him and his family. Miner Wicox and his wife, Sara Sabrina Brockway were both from very important early pioneer families in North Western PA, Elk County. In fact, local towns in the area are named for each family. According to his obituary, printed locally, he died on 05-23-1899 at the home of his daughter Mrs. Rhoda Lindesmith of Los Angeles, CA. He was born in NY state, Lafayette County, on 06-09-1822. He did not move to PA until the early 1830's with his parents."
