She was taken ill three weeks ago with the grip and although she had long been troubled with an affection of the heart, the ailment was greatly aggravated and resulted in her death. The end came very peacefully and when the lamp of her life went out it marked the close of a long and useful career. Had Mrs. Haworth lived until the 19 of next month she would have been 80 years old. She was born January 19, 1812, in Clinton county, Ohio, her maiden name being Sarah Jane Woolman. She untied with that church when a young woman and throughout her long career she remained a faithful and consistent member of that faith. She was always a true and loving wife, and a devoted mother. The many years that were allotted to her she lived well and in her death her children and husband find consolation in the fact that no act of her's arises to cause regret. Her life was pure and spotless. During her long residence in Decatur Mrs. Haworth made many friends by her kindly and loving nature, and beyond the family circle there will be many who will deeply deplore her loss.
