Robert BUSHROT

Discussion letter by Will Crump dated 7 June 2007.

In the discussion of Henry Bushrode’s Will it was noted that the “cosen” William Bushrode might actually be a nephew.  This is confirmed by Richard Busrod’s Will which provides the following bequest (emphasis supplied):
I give to my brother Robert Bushrod his son William Bushrod the some of twenty pounds more than the legacie given him by my Uncle Henry Bushrod late deceased of Craford.
This simple statement provides us with much information about the family.  Henry Bushrode, who’s Will was probated in 1614 is the brother of Richard Bushrod’s father, whoever that may be.  From the above examination of Henry’s Will, it is clear that John Bushrot is not Henry’s brother, so he can not be Richard Bushrod’s father.
