She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church where she was involved with the United Methodist Women, Ruth and Elizabeth Circles. She retired from BASF/American Enka.
Virginia owned and operated Sisson’s Fine Jewelry in Morristown; The Pink Dogwood Boutique in Rogersville and opened one of the first fitness facilities in Morristown, “Virginia’s Figure Salon.” Virginia was involved in her community having founded the Hamblen County Chapter of American Cancer Society and was active on the statewide level; founding member of Morristown Rescue Squad auxiliary known as the Crewettes; member of Beta Sigma Phi Society and helped establish a chapter in White Pine; First Lady of Morristown nominee; active in the Pilot Club; Hamblen County Republican Women’s Association, holding state office; attended multiple Republican Inaugurations and was an avid Bridge player.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Earl H. Sisson; parents, Samuel and Ota Evans; sisters, Margaret Leonard, Willie Evans and brother, Robert Evans.
She is survived by her sons, Sam Sisson, Jim (Rita) Sisson, and Tommy Sisson; grandchildren; Chris Sisson, Cassie Sisson, Thomas S. Sisson II, Rachel Ann (Matt) Reading; great grandchildren; Cody Sisson, Chloe-Jean Fox Carr, and Zach Sisson; as well as several nieces and nephews; special friends and family, Jackie Sisson, Brenda VonCannon, Betty Shuck, Rose and Larry Reneau and others too numerous to mention.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00pm Saturday, April 8, 2017 in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home. Entombment services at Hamblen Memory Gardens are planned for 12:00 noon Sunday, April 9, 2017, with Dr. Chuck Starks presiding. She was an active member of Englewood Baptist Church and the Faith Sunday School Class where she served as secretary. She helped with collections for Wednesday night supper was an assistant church library worker and was involved with the women's ministry at Englewood.
Mrs. Perrin was employed for 24 years as an office manager for Carroll Imports in Murray Kentucky and was a loving mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Perrin is survived by her husband Bob Perrin of Jackson TN; one son Robert David Perrin Jr. and wife Lara Lyn of Jackson TN; two daughters Susan Wilson and husband Rob of the Three Way Community and Lynda Lu Perrin of Smyrna TN; her parents Albert E. Gollaher and Illa Gertrude Gollaher of Indianapolis IN; one sister JoAnn Spillman of Indianapolis IN; and three grandchildren.
