He came to Missouri in 1835, arriving near Rocheport.  He was elected County Judge and served in that capacity continuously with the exception of two year, 1861 and 1863, when he was Mayor of Fayette, until his death.  He was a member of the Christian Church, a good and trustworth citizen, held in highest esteem by all who knew him.  Funeral services will be held in the Christian Church, burial in the city cemetery."
